FIFA 14 - Wayne Rooney Review

I'd like to take a hit at the guess of his price but the market is dead so I can't even guess. I also got him in an untradeable pack so I never purchased him off the market. Anyway let's get into the review!

Looking at his card :shock:76 Pace. 83 Dribbling. 81 Heading. 83 Passing. 87 Shooting. He really has in incredible.

Stats Review:

80 Crossing - When he runs out wide then he can easily whip the ball at the back post. Especially to the strikers I used him with - Lukaku and Torres.

90 Finishing - Well this is a true reflection of this player. He has insane finishing and can finish the ball from anywhere inside or outside of the box. I didn't find his finesse shot to be that great though.

88 Long Shots - I had a lot of good long shots but I just couldn't get them to go into the back of the net

86 Short Pass - I genuinely can't remember if he missed a pass.

94 Shot Power - Well this stat feels maxed out. He has unreal shot power.

99 Stamina -He doesn't stop running all game.

85 Strength - You cannot outmuscle the Rooney.

Rooney is so good. He has pace, he has an exceptional pass. He can easily bounce those passes onto the sprinting Benteke. His dribbling is out of this world. I overused the L1 button to stop the ball and easily drag the defenders out of place. I'd then just adjust the run and open the space up behind defenders. Then release the kraken of which Rooney releases that 94 shot power. The problem for defenders is that he has 95 aggression and 85 strength and defenders just can't out muscle him. His heading unfortunately thought was lower that on the card. He didn't really win any headers for me but that really wasn't a problem at the CAM position. He was a box to box player because of his High High workrates. I tried him at a ST position and a CAM. ST didn't suit him because of his work rates but CAM position and my word. He owns the midfield. Another issue with Rooney was high skills. I wish he had 4* skill moves but it's not a disaster but he really is an outstanding player.

Would I recommend him?
YES! He is outstanding and is such a great player, with sublime strength, shot, dribbling, passing and good pace. Get him for your team!

How to get the best out of him?
Play him at CAM or if your formation has two CAM's play him on the left so you can use that strong foot to cut inside.

But i have a question, Let's say i want to buy a BPL CAM, Would you recommend him over the others? such as : Nasri, Cazorla, Mata, Ozil, Silva?

Cheers. It kinda depends what you like in a CAM. I would immediately rule out Ozil and Silva because of their 2* weak foot. I personally dislike Mata and would never use him but he has way poorer stats than Rooney and has really poor pace.

If you want a goalscorer then you want Rooney. Strength? Rooney.
Want someone ready for the counter attack? Nasri. He has High/Low work rates.
Want someone to be able to switch passes all around and an all round boss. Cazorla. The 4* skills and 5* weak foot is just immense.

It's all preference in what stats you prefer in the position.
