FIFA 14 - IF Diego Costa Review
So, at the beginning of Fifa I got inform Pedro in a pack. I decided to make a BPL team with the coins from inform Pedro and the other 30k I had. Once I got bored of the BPL team, I turned to a BBVA team. (this was at the time when normal Costa was 15k and inform costa was rated 84) All my mates told me how good Costa was, so I decided to try out inform Costa. This is the quad I used him in: http://www.futhead.com/14/squads/7936770/ (he is 85 rated as FUTHead wouldn't let me use his 84 rated in a squad.
Here is the review:
83 pace: It genuinely felt like I had put one of those 50 pace CB in ST. He would just get tackled every single time I was sprinting with him. However, his normal card didn't feel like that at all.
81 dribbling: I think that his dribbling was very good. However, I think that it was more like 74 dribbling instead of 81. As for this stat, its nothing special.
83 shot: I think his long range shots were really good and powerful and although I didn't score any, they all tested the keeper. However, his short range shots were absolutely appalling. I missed a sweaty goal and an open goal in three games. Once I got sick of him and I sold Costa, I Bought Benzema, and I was scoring so many more goals.
57 defending: It genuinely surprises me that he only has 57 defending if he's got a high defensive work rate. He was going back for every single corner and pushed up very slowly from each one. Not the player you want if you play counter-attacking football.
60 passing: Rubbish, 100% rubbish. I would always try to pass it to the wings, and I would say 80% of these passes would be intercepted. This would cause for him to push back because of his work rate which really annoyed me.
80 heading: Definitely his best stat of the 6. The few goals I did score with him were mainly headers from corners. Although you could argue that everyone has good heading when it comes to corners.
Work rates: His work rates are H/H. This meant that he was defending quite a lot. It felt like he was playing in a false nine rather than as a ST because of this.
Other: He is 6 ft 2 in. He does have 62 jumping however it did feel like more because he did win most headers that arrived at his head.
Skill moves: Does have 3 star skills which was a bit of a disappointment. I did want to do some Ronaldo chops with him as I find that skill move very effective.
Weak foot: His 3 star weak foot really does stand out, and not in a good way. he just couldn't shoot very well with his left foot.
To conclude, I think that Inform Diego Costa is possibly one of the worst cards I've played with in the whole of Fifa. His passing, work rates and pace really annoyed me the most. I had tried out normal costa previously, and he was 100 times better. In the squad I used, Vela was 100% the star man, however, Costa should've been. Now that he is 500k, I wouldn't even think of testing him, even though his inform is now 85. If you want costa, just stick to his normal.

I've also been disappointed by this IF card, sold him back and now am using Vieri as secondary striker. He'd probably shine in some sort of 4-3-3 though!

Somebody doesn't like IF Costa.. I was going to try him out, I thought his card looked alright.. But after your review, it looks like I'm not going to use him.

Id agree, try first his NIF card, if it pleases you, try the IF, but if not, then the IF won't change much of your appreciation!
